Visitor Complaints about 203-322-9876:

Complaint: Harassing call.

Posted By: Mike Hunt on 2011-06-20 12:22:36

Complaint: Call originated on June 15th at 3:35 AM. I didn't answer the call, but most people report it as an automated fraudulent message reporting that your credit card has been blocked. I don't take ANY calls that I don't know and, if anyone I don't know wants to talk with me, I offer to call them back at their phone number. I have yet to have my offer accepted!

Posted By: steven jones on 2011-06-16 16:21:48

Complaint: I have received this call twice now, and I want to figure out how to stop receiving these calls. I do not have any idea how they got my phone number, but it is my cell phone and I really do not want to keep getting calls from them.

Posted By: Tanya on 2011-06-09 17:25:50

Complaint: They called at 10:30 PM at night. I missed the call since it was on my cell, but they did not leave any message on my voicemail. I did attempt to return the call to the same number just about 30 minutes after they called. I got a recording saying that the number I have dialed is not in service! They need to be stopped!

Complaint: The need to stop bothering people. I am putting in a complaint especially since they are calling on my CELL! Thanks, please get rid of them

Complaint: Called received at 10:15pm and it was an automated system asking to "press 1" to activate my credit card. I am also a Verizon customer so have to wonder if they have sold my number?

Posted By: victoria on 2011-05-05 16:22:18

Complaint: I received a call at 2:50 a.m. this morning. This was an automated call and I didn't even listen to it. I do not appreciate this and would like to file a complaint.

Complaint: An automated call came in last night. They did not identify what bank or company they were. They called last night about 9:30p.m. Said there was fraud on my credit card and my card was blocked. They then asked for me to press 1 to unblock my credit card. I immediately hung up the phone and called all of my credit cards to make sure everything was ok. How did they get my cell phone number?

Posted By: Nancy on 2011-05-05 07:58:04

Complaint: Phoned at 12:43 AM on a Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Same as the others - robot voice about account being locked, we hung up, called back and got the "out of service" message. We're in southeast Michigan.

Complaint: This number called my celll at 2;10 AM. I have 2 servicemembers in my family. Scared me to death! I answered and it said my card had been deactivated, to reactivate press 1...I was 1/2 asleep and pressed it. It repeated and I pressed it AGAIN. I feel so stupid. what should I do now.

Complaint: Didn't answer the phone but they called at 1:00 in the morning. How rude.

Posted By: Rachel on 2011-05-02 06:00:54

Complaint: Someone from this number tried to call me at 4:35AM Eastern Time on Monday, May 2, 2011. Caller ID says it is from "Arsha" based in Stamford, CT. I just missed the call, and no message was left. When I tried to call it back, it said the number was disconnected. Phishing scam or not, 4:30am is a ridiculous hour to call. Even if it came from another timezone in the US, it would still be a ridiculous time!

Complaint: I received a call from 203-322-9876 on my cell phone, they stated that my MNBA credit card was locked and I should press "1" to be transferred to the Security Dept., I did nothing because I do not own such a card. So this was a scam attempt.

Posted By: wayne on 2011-04-29 06:51:44

Complaint: Call from 203-322-9876 puporting to be "Southern Bank"'s security center claiming that "your debit card is locked - press 1 to unlock". I do not have an account with this bank, do to the fact that it does not exist. I also have blocked telemarketers from calling my cell.

Complaint: recording saying my account was compromised and that I should press "1" to be connected to security department. I hung up. I wish it were a person so I could tell him to go f#ck himself

Posted By: ck on 2011-04-24 09:29:22

Complaint: I saw the called ID with this unknown person/number, so I let the voicemail pick up. All it said was, "Press 1 to be connected with our security department, press 2 to end the call." I knew immediately it was some kind of credit card/debit card scam. The caller ID indicated the caller was Gisella Kurz - no credit card company I know of would identify their employees like that. I may be dumb but I'm not stupid!

Posted By: Not Stupid on 2011-04-23 15:18:10

Complaint: Received a call at 9:55pm telling me my debit card has been locked due to fraudulent use and to press one to reactivate it. I hung up.

Complaint: Same story as everyone else getting a call from this number. A computer generated voice says my debit card has been locked.

Posted By: Christina on 2011-04-22 19:45:11

Complaint: Same as the rest. A robot voice told me my debit card at MBNA bank was locked. Don't have anything at MBNA bank; and I live in Canada, so there's no reason for a call from Connecticut. Phishing scam for sure!

Posted By: Margaret on 2011-04-17 11:29:27

Complaint: I received a call from 203-322-9876 on my cell phone, they stated that my MNBA credit card was locked and I should press "1" to be transferred to the Security Dept., I did nothing but wait on the line to see what would happen, within 30 seconds the called timed-out, ended, so I redialed to see what I would get and after 2 rings I got a "this number is not in service, check the number you have dialed" automated message. The 203 area code is in Connecticut, I am in Toronto Canada. This caller is obviously a scammer but for what / who I do not know!

Complaint: Phish-call telling me my debit card was stolen or some such thing.

Posted By: SFNM on 2011-04-14 22:53:26

Complaint: Computer voice said my debit card was locked. Told to push #1 for help. How did they get my cell#? Does Verizon have anything to do with this?

Posted By: Eric on 2011-03-24 15:30:39

Complaint: Called at 10:40 pm! Same as others - said my Visa had been robbed and to press 1 for security. I immediately hung up, of course. I do have an account, but they don't have this number! Caller number will be BLOCKED.

Complaint: fraud tried to get my credit card info acting like mastercard

Posted By: mike kennedy on 2011-03-21 11:40:51

Complaint: Received a call telling me that my Mastercard account was locked and I should press 1 for the security department and 2 to "leave". When I pressed 1 there was a pause and then it repeated the same message. I ended the call and then tried to call the number back. An automated message said that this number was not in service. I received another call a few hours later from the same number but did not answer. I immediately tried to redial the number and was again told the number was not in service. Just checked with my credit card company. They did not call and my account is not locked. Definitely a scam!!

Complaint: some foreign douche fishing for information, naturally he got none and I called my bank to issue new cards, why can't these artists put their efforts into good things like helping the homeless or putting Michael Moore on a diet

Complaint: called me in Seattle re debit card; WAMU out of business (duh) and i never had an account with them.

Posted By: Welling on 2011-03-10 11:32:27

Complaint: Ditto to everyone below. They said they were WAMU which was my first flag. I called my bank and they said my accounts are all fine.

Posted By: Diane on 2011-03-10 10:39:23

Complaint: Got a call on my cell phone from an automated message saying my Washington Mutual debit card was lost and I needed to press 1 to talk to their security dept. I didn't do that because #1 Washington Mutual no longer exists.. it's now Chase. #2 - I called back the number and it's disconnected... go figure. SCAM

Posted By: Washingtonian on 2011-03-10 10:30:26

Complaint: Got a call to my cell phone claiming to be a bank (Washington Mutual?) saying my card was locked. The recording was not clear and quite terse asking me to press 1 to "unlock" my card or 2 for something else that was hard to hear. I pressed nothing wanting to speak with someone and was never offered the possibility. I don't have a Washington Mutual card. Scam!

Posted By: Very Unhapy on 2011-03-09 23:51:05

Complaint: Received a call this number. An automated voice said they'd locked my WAMU debit card. WAMU isn't a real bank anymore! Obviously a scam.

Complaint: Received a call a 10:36 Pm last night (3-7-11) on my cell phone. It was an automated call that stated that the call was from Wesbanco informing me that my account was locked and to press 1 to be connected to security. I have no such account. How do we stop these scams?

Posted By: Delmer on 2011-03-08 07:55:21

Complaint: The above phone number keeps calling my cell number stating my mastercard has been locked and I need to press 1 to talk to the security dept. Bogus my card is fine. I just answered my boyfriends phone and the phone # that showed on caller ID was 216, and it was the same message about the mastercard being locked. Are cell phones are on the same account, with Verizon wireless. I want to know if Verizon is selling our information to these scammers.

Posted By: Sonya on 2011-03-06 20:46:39

Complaint: This call came around 10:15 PM EST with an automated voice saying "This is SunTrust Bank, we're sorry to inform you that your account is locked, please press 1 and you will be connected to the security department" These are scammers hoping someone will be stupid enough to press 1 and give them info. I don't even have a SunTrust account, and bank security doesn't use methods like this.

Posted By: Carlos on 2011-03-04 21:24:07

Complaint: Automated voice message said my mastercard was locked and I should press 1 for service. Don't have a mastercard.
