Telemarketer/Company Name: Marketing Connections
Telemarketer/Company Number: 603-471-1047
The Story: Ok, so I'm one of the haters of telemarketers (aren't we all?), so I signed my cell phone up for the Do Not Call list. I had never received a call from a telemarketer, but I thought I might as well, as my # was on my MSN profile.

So, a few days later (about 1 PM) I get a call from a random number. Now, since I'd rather not pay for a call from someone I don't know(free calls start at 7 :) ), I just let the phone ring until it said missed call. I got the number and did a Yahoo! search, and found several links to websites where other people were complaining about getting a call from them several times a day.

This led me to believe that companies, instead of using the list of numbers to search their database and take the numbers off, are purposely adding the numbers to their list. Pretty obvious, isn't it?

I decided to post today because, just as I expected, I got a call from another random number. I decided to call 'em back this time, and I got the company name (see above). After doing a www.free411.com search, I got the following info on the number...

"(603) 471-1047 is a land line based in Bedford, NH
The registered service provider is Verizon**.
Detailed listing information is not available."

Now, since I'm a student, I have to keep my cellphone off during the day, so I don't have a HUGE list of calls from them, but any days I have off, I can expect my phone to ring at LEAST 2 times a day. I'm sick of companies disobeying the purpose of the list, and I'm sick of the government not doing something about it.
