Complaint: FreeWeb USA / Best Web USA 6/22/10 - 3:33 PM Chris Green called and identified himself as an "Operator for Verizon" Calling to let me know about an online listing that would be mailed out to us for verification. There would be no charge for service, and nothing would happen without our action after we received the mailing. If we do nothing, it would cancel by itself after 30 days If we call to continue, we will be charged. If billed - this will appear on Verizon (or whomever your local telco is) telephone bill. He quoted that we would be waived of the set up fee of $9.00 He then talked over the automated system notice that he brought on the line with us. I started the process by giving my name and title, but did NOT say "yes" to anything. I *DID NOT* AT ANY TIME AUTHORIZE CHARGES FOR ANY SERVICE PROVIDED ON THEIR RECORDED AUTHORIZATION SYSTEM. Caller ID listed: CCONC - 1-978-570-2318 We called Verizon (oru telco) IMMEDIATELY Spoke to Tonya - We have a "slam block" set up on account, but it MIGHT NOT WORK. If an unauthorized charge should appear, we are to call the contact number and/or call Verizon if we see any unauthorized charges. BE CAREFUL, FOLKS! I know better and I might have gotten nailed!

Complaint: This company "Best Web" (Sara) claimed to be a representative of the phone company carrier in our area (Qwest) in "Medford, Oregon". They stated that they were the online yellow pages for Qwest. my wife works for the online yellow pages for Qwest (DexKnows.com) and my wife confirmed and made a complaint to Qwest against "Best Web". Qwest stated they were not affiliated w/Best Web and indeed dexknows.com is their only online yellow pages. Therefore this is a bogus company committing fraud (Best Web).
