Indiana Laws: This Week In Telemarketing
If you live in the state of Indiana are going to have cell phone numbers that will as protected as the landline users under the DNCR. The new measure will amend the states existing “do not call” effective July 1st. Hoosier who have begun using the cell phones as their primary way of telecommunicating are now able to register their numbers to a list. Presently, the state attorney general’s office reports that there are over 1.8 million cell phone numbers on the list.
The new provision to the laws does not exclude prepaid wireless calling or internet phone services either. It also includes texting and video capabilities. Telemarketing companies are required to buy new updated lists every quarter. Attorney General Greg Zoeller says, “Indiana has the lowest number of scams on the telephone.”
